How to Get to Yeruham#

Yeruham is in the Negev and is most easily reached overland after arriving at Ben Gurion (TLV) - travel usually involves a train or bus to Be’er Sheva followed by a short bus or taxi to Yeruham. There are no direct flights to the town.

By Air

Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): The main international gateway to Israel. To reach Yeruham from TLV, many travellers take a train to Be’er Sheva (approx. 45-60 minutes) then an intercity bus or taxi to Yeruham (about 30-45 minutes). Train fares to Be’er Sheva are typically ILS 20-40 and the bus/taxi leg costs about ILS 20-60 depending on mode.

Ramon (Eilat) / Ovda (VDA) / Sde Dov (closed): Ramon Airport (ETM) near Eilat is much further south and not practical for Yeruham unless combining with a southern itinerary; overland transfer times from ETM are several hours.

By Train & Bus

Train: Israel Railways runs frequent services to Be’er Sheva (Savidor/Negev stations) from Tel Aviv and other cities. From Be’er Sheva you continue by bus or taxi to Yeruham.

Bus: Egged and regional bus services link Be’er Sheva and Yeruham; local buses between Be’er Sheva and Yeruham typically take 30-45 minutes with fares in the ILS 10-25 range. Taxis are faster but cost more.

  • Train to Be’er Sheva + bus/taxi (ILS 20-80 total) - The common route from TLV is by Israel Railways to Be’er Sheva then switch to an Egged bus or taxi to Yeruham. Trains are comfortable and frequent; the last leg depends on local bus timetables so check connections, especially on Shabbat when services are reduced.
  • Intercity bus (Egged) (ILS 10-30) - Egged operates regional routes connecting Yeruham with Be’er Sheva and other Negev towns. Buses are reliable and affordable but may have limited frequency on weekends and evenings.
  • Taxi / Private transfer (ILS 80-250 (depending on origin)) - Taxis are the fastest way to reach Yeruham from Be’er Sheva or TLV but are costlier. Fixed-price transfers can be arranged for airport pick-ups; useful when public transport schedules are inconvenient.
  • Car rental / Driving (ILS 120-300/day) - Renting a car is practical for exploring the Negev and gives full flexibility. Roads are in good condition; watch for long distances between services and limited lighting on some rural stretches at night.
  • Local buses (ILS 4-15) - Local minibuses and bus lines serve routes within Yeruham and to nearby settlements; frequency for small communities can be low, so plan ahead for connections.
