How to Get to Yuscarán#
Yuscarán is best reached overland from Tegucigalpa or San Pedro Sula after arrival by air. There are no rail options; expect to use intercity buses, shared vans or private transfers for the final leg into the El Paraíso highlands.
Toncontín International Airport (TGU) / Palmerola (XPL): Yuscarán in El Paraíso Department is usually reached by road after flying into Tegucigalpa (Toncontín or the newer Palmerola/Comayagua airport). From Tegucigalpa an overland transfer to Yuscarán typically takes 2-4 hours by car or bus depending on traffic and route; taxi or shuttle costs vary widely by distance.
Golosón International Airport (LCE) / Ramón Villeda Morales (SAP): Depending on your itinerary, flights into La Ceiba (LCE) or San Pedro Sula (SAP) can be used as alternatives, followed by long overland journeys to El Paraíso - expect several hours on the road from these airports.
Train: Honduras has no regular passenger rail services.
Bus: Intercity buses and private shuttle services run between major cities and departmental capitals; from those hubs you’ll take regional buses or colectivos to reach smaller towns like Yuscarán. Travel times depend on road conditions; fares are modest for regional buses but vary by operator.
