How to Get to Zamora, Michoacán#

Zamora (Michoacán) is best reached by intercity bus from regional airports (Morelia, Guadalajara) or by car. There is no regular long‑distance passenger rail serving the city; the bus station is the main arrival point for travelers.

By Air

General Francisco J. Múgica International Airport, Morelia (MLM): Morelia is the closest major airport with frequent domestic flights. From Morelia airport you can take an ADO/other intercity bus or a private shuttle toward Zamora; driving time to Zamora is about 2-2.5 hours by road. Expect taxi/shuttle fares from the airport to the bus terminal or to a private transfer roughly MXN 600-1,500 depending on service.

Guadalajara (GDL): Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport is another option with many more international connections; drive time to Zamora is 3.5-4.5 hours depending on route and traffic, or use long-distance bus connections to Zamora from Guadalajara’s bus terminals.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no major passenger rail service directly serving Zamora; long-distance passenger rail in Mexico is limited.
